MANILA, Philippines - Angelo Que turned in a second straight two-under 68 and wound up tied for fifth in the Hong Kong Open won by Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez via playoff over Thai Prom Meesawat at the Hong Kong Golf Club yesterday.
Que, who banked $46,540 (P2 million), moved to within a shot in one stretch with three birdies in the first 10 holes but reeled back with a bogey on the 11th. He never recovered from there as he settled for pars after missing a couple of birdie putts inside six feet in the last eight holes.
Still, his eight-under 272 proved enough to land him another top five finish following a joint fourth effort in the India Open last month. Que also placed third at the Yeangder Championship in Taiwan last September, fifth in the Indonesian Masters last May and fourth again in the Myanmar Open last February.
