MANILA, Philippines - Team captain Michael “MJ†Altamira grabbed two championship trophies to extend the winning tradition of Team Suzuki Phoenix YRS in the fourth leg of the Repsol National Road Race Championships at the Blue Wave Marquinton parking lot recently.
Showing his impressive riding skills and technique, Altamira ruled the Suzuki NEX One Make Race and 125 Automatic Expert Class on board a Suzuki NEX 115 to lead the charge of the team.
“We had a few difficulties during the Saturday practice sessions, but with the unmatched support of the team management, I was able to perform at my peak and deliver two championship categories for my team,†said Altamira.
Alongside Altamira, James Aldrin Mendez, who suffered a heavy crash during the practice sessions, managed to finish second runner-up in the Suzuki NEX One Make Race in spite of his shoulder injuries.
On board a Suzuki Smash, Eljin Lobarbio bagged the championship in the 115 Stock Novice class, with multi-titled Enzo Rellosa finishing first runner-up, thereby securing a 1-2 overall finish for Team YRS in the category.
