Pacquiao laughs off Venetian incident

MACAU – It was business as usual for Manny Pacquiao inside the ring yesterday.

Just moments after his trainer, Freddie Roach, got into a fight with members of Team Rios, Pacquiao pushed through with his training.

Pacquiao entered and left the ring with a big smile on his face.

After his mitts session with Roach, the Filipino boxer who’s always in a jovial mood pretended like he was going to kick his chief trainer.

The room burst into laughter.

Roach said it’s a sign that Pacquiao is not bothered by the incident.

“He’s ready to fight,” he said.

Roach got kicked by Alex Ariza near the mid-section after the former got into a heated verbal tussle with Rios’ trainer, Rob Garcia.

Pacquiao said the incident does not bother him at all as he headed to a very important fight with the 27-year-old Rios, a Mexican-American.

“I have nothing to say. What happened today doesn’t bother me. Business as usual,” said Pacquiao.

He then turned Biblical, saying, “If you have grievance against anybody, learn to forgive.”

Pacquiao trained for nearly two hours and then called it a day.

Roach said they’ll be back at the gym today – regardless of who they run into.

“We’ll be here tomorrow. We’ll be here on time,” he said.
