Regata golf tourney under way
MANILA, Philippines - The first REGATA (Regional Association of Treasurers and Assessors) IV-A Calabarzon fund-raising tournament, headed by president Raymundo Salazar, tees off at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club in Trece Martires, Cavite today.
More than 100 players are expected to participate in the one-day event, which aims to gather funds for the out-of-school youths and less fortunate constituents of REGATA IV-A Calabarzon, said Bacoor City Assessor Teddy Dayday.
Dayday is chair of the organizing committee with Nellie Gomez, Concepcion Viray, Erlinda Montenegro, Carlos Matabang, Ed Sedo, Isagani Guibio, Abner Prudente, Ronnie Valles, Cirilo Martal, Cecilia Tan, Nestor Concepcion and Rachel Magcalas as members.
The golfers will battle for the five titles, including the low gross and low net championships, and Divisions A, B and C winners, at stake using the System 36 format.
Shotgun tee off is at 8:30 a.m.
