Bulldogs drop St Paul 5 for semis

MANILA, Philippines - National University tripped St. Paul University for its fourth straight victory and claimed the first semifinals seat in the premier 25-and-Under Division of the best Center-organized, Milo-sponsored 26th Women’s Basketball league over the weekend at the Xavier School gym.

The Lady Bulldogs showed no mercy in scuttling St. Paul, 64-34, then watched Philippine Women’s University smother the same St. Paul squad, 56-48, and walked over St. Scholastica’s College to complete the semis cast in Group A.

Group B had University of Santo Tomas claimed its third win in as many days at the expense of Assumption, 70-33, to lead Group B while UP-Diliman zapped University of Asia and the Pacific, 40-22, to complete their side’s semis pair.

13-and Under: De La Salle-Zobel d. Miriam College-A, 36-22; DLSZ d. Saint Pedro Poveda, 28-17; Miriam-A w.o. Miriam-B

17-Under Developmental: Group A-- School of Holy Spirit d. New Era High School,  22-19.

Group B-- Miriam College d. St. Clare Science High School, 26-13;  PWU w.o. Immaculate Heart of Mary College

Group C-- Casimiro Ynares MNHS d. St. Theresa’s College, 39-24;  Casimiro Ynares MNHS d. Southville ISC, 42-20;  Southville International School and Colleges d. School of St. Anthony, 19-16; Montessori Integrated School d. St. Theresa’s College, 32-12

17-Under Competitive: Group A-- Angelicum d. La Salle-Zobel, 49-20; Diliman Preparatory School d. Assumption College, 44-32

Group B-- Saint Pedro Poveda College d. Assumption Antipolo, 39-34; Miriam College d. Saint Pedro Poveda College, 46-27; University of Perpetual Help Dalta d. Assumption Antipolo, 56-31.
