Seniors trimester golf slated at Southwoods

MANILA, Philippines - Some of the country’s leading golfing seniors take center stage again  when  the Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash and Christmas golf tournament sponsored by Brainmaster gets going Nov. 19 at the Manila Southwoods’ Masters course in Carmona, Cavite.

Organized by the Southwoods’ Seniors Chapter headed by Jose Cedo and vice president/tournament chairman Paco Gonzalez, the event features 60 of the club’s seniors chapter members and their guests aged 55 years old and above.

The seniors chapter will also hold its annual members’ meeting and elections of directors and officers after the 18-hole tournament sponsored by Brainmaster for Senior Moments.

Yamaha by Kart Plaza is putting up a golf cart for a hole in one. Hole sponsors are Asia Pacific Golf Corp., Camp John Hay Golf Club, Camp John Hay Coffee Services, EEI Corp., Electro-Mechanical Products, Inc., Fabriduct, Finmat International Resources, Inc., Foodenizer, Inc., Group Management and Dev’t. Inc., I3 Technologies Corp., Millennium Erectors Corp., Romie Perdon, Red Eagle Lending Investors, Inc. (RELI), Resorts World Manila, Romago, Inc., Rudy Project, Sherwood Hills Golf Club, Tocoms Phils. and Warbird Security and Investigation Agency, Inc.

Registration begins at 6 a.m.  with the shotgun start set at 8:30 a.m.

Format for members will be medal play with full handicap (max 36). Titles to be disputed are Class A (0-12), Class B (13-24), Class C (25-36) and Super Senior (74-and-above). The top two winners from each class will receive prizes.

Raul Olea fired a gross 76 for a net 66 and nipped Brian Park in the countback to capture the Class A crown in the last Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash golf tournament sponsored by Brainmaster last August. Rolly Sacramento took the Class B plum while Jose de Leon copped the Class C title and Jose Cedo re-stamped his class in the Super Seniors category.
