Sherwood launches part of new course in golf tiff

MANILA, Philippines - The soft launch of the initial four of the planned second 18-hole course will be featured at the Sherwood Hills Cup member-guest tournament set Sunday in Trece Martires, Cavite.

The four holes will be ready for half of the participants, especially club members headed by lawyer Harry Paltongan, who are raring to test the new layout.

Players who start on No. 10 will finish the first nine on the Nicklaus course. They head to the new four to begin their front nine then continue on to the old course’s Nos. 1 to 5 to finish their respective rounds.

The Sherwood Cup, sponsored by Agrexplore, Mighty Corp., MCS Construction, Compact Graphics, Utopia Advertising, BenLife and Northern 8 Advertising, offers  two carts to  lucky ace makers.

The Philippine STAR, Business Mirror and Impact Magazine are media partners while Isuzu Phil. Corp., Mega Fiber, Kart Plaza and Turf Company are major sponsors.
