MANILA, Philippines - Lone Filipino PXC titlist Ale “The Young Gun” Cali faces off with Louis Smolka of Hawaii in a clash of styles headlining the PXC 41 which also features the first-ever women’s duel at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig tomorrow night.

Cali, a striker, is raring to display his vaunted striking flair once again as he returns into action after almost a year of hiatus due to an injury against a grappler who’s long been waiting for this match.

“I’m back in perfect shape. I’m looking forward to engaging him in a standing battle. If that happens, you can expect me to win the match,” said the Filipino champ.

“I’ve been hungry for this fight since February. I’m ready to go. I’m ready to do this,” said the Hawaiian challenger. “I’m an exciting fighter. I’m looking for an early finish, but I’ll take it how it comes.”

PXC chief executive officer EJ Calvo promised the PXC 41 would be a grand night of fights during the media launch yesterday at Country Spices restaurant in Scout Area, Quezon City.

TV5 will have a delayed telecast of PXC 41 on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. with a replay on Aksyon TV at 10 p.m.

“This is our 10th show in the Philippines and, as we always do, we’re improving the quality of the fights we bring,” said Calvo in promoting the fight card that also features a first ever PXC women showdown and return of Mark Striegl versus Malaysian-New Zealander Ev Ting.

A former Phl wushu youth fighter, Gina Iniong challenges a foreign rival.
