MANILA, Philippines - Two-time world 10-ball champ Rubilen Amit starred in two crucial victories in the final day as Team Asia finished off Team West, for a 10-4 victory in the JBET.com Queens Cup yesterday at Resorts World Manila.

Amit partnered with Korean Ga Young Kim to beat British bets Kelly and Allison Fisher in the doubles, 4-2, helping the Asians get on the hill (9-3) in their race-to-10 affair against superstars from Britain, Austria and the US.

The Cebuana ace returned to action in the 3-on-3 play and joined hands with Kim and Chinese Shi Ming Chen to score a 4-2 triumph over Kelly Fisher, Austrian Jasmin Ouschan and American Vivian Villareal that wrapped it all up for Asia.

Kelly Fisher accounted for Team West’s lone victory of the day, a 4-0 shut out of Chen in the singles.

Team Asia bested Team West in each of the three days of 10-ball competitions played in 4-on-4, doubles, singles, and 3-on-3 formats. The Asians seized a 4-2 lead after Day 1 and stretched it to 8-3 in Day 2.

“I feel great. I had a lot of fun in this tournament,” said Amit as she and teammates Kim, Chen and Chinese Taipei Pei Chen Tsai accepted the trophy.

It was a successful week for Amit, who just three days ago captured her second world title in the same venue.
