TRS Raceday set at Clark
MANILA, Philippines - The Tuason Racing School holds the second leg of its TRS Raceday this weekend with the Philippine Touring Car Championship highlighting the two-day event at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
As part of its 15th anniversary bash, the country’s longest running and only professional racing school has lined up a series of activities and races for the corporate sponsors and executives of the automotive industry as well as racing buffs and pro race car drivers.
The PTCC, organized by the AAP and the Philippine Race Car Drivers, Inc., will be bannered by a field of more than 20 cars and top caliber drivers, led by first leg winner Joey Pery, vying for the titles in the 100hp, 150hp and 200hp classes.
The TRS Raceday has lined up a number of activities and races for the crowd, corporate sponsors and executives of the automotive industry as well as racing buffs and pro race car drivers in the event backed by Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, PUMA, Coke Zero, Acer, OMP, C!Magazine, Oakley, Aguila Auto Glass, Go Pro, Lifeline Ambulance, Wurth, Karate Kid, Toptul, Elig, Bellevue, Rota, Brembo, Has Travel, Haima Dau and Pampanga, RW95.1 FM, CLTV36, Sunstar Pampanga.
The TRS-Bridgestone Retro Race, meanwhile, continues to draw spectators as the race track is transformed into moving classic car motor show with impeccably restored Mini, Volkswagen, Datsun, Toyota, Ford and others battling each other for top honors.
Dubbed as one of the most successful back-to-basic grassroots motorsports races, the event caters for cars 1985 and older with the field featuring over 40 classic cars.
Also on tap is the Track Attack organized by TRS, Stivo and Rota Wheels where a total of 160 participants from Toyota Fest and Honda Club are set to compete in the track time trial which focuses on class’ dictated wheel HP that will allow participants to gauge their performance against the pro race drivers.
