MYBL caging draws 8 teams

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Young talents from Tondo get to showcase their skills in the first Rite Med Manila Youth Basketball League (MYBL) which unfolds on Dec. 7 at the Tondo Sports Complex in Manila with eight teams participating.

“This is our commitment to our youth in Tondo so that their focus will be on sports and health,” said Unilab-Ritemed operations manager Edwin Nicolas, who also comes from Manila’s densely-populated first district, in yesterday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s Malate.

“We are supporting this event because this is part of Unilab’s corporate responsibility through sports while providing a venue for our young basketeers in Tondo to have a league of their own,” said Uniliab business development specialist Jun Aquino.

Joint organizer Darren Evangelista said the event is held in coordination with the Manila city government and the Manila Sports Council headed by former basketball icon Philip Cesar.

“This event has the full backing of the city government under Mayor Joseph Estrada and MASCO chairman Philip Cesar,” said Evangelista.
