Draw keeps Diliman, Mla Jeepney on top

MANILA, Philippines - Pachanga Diliman FC and Manila Jeepney FC fought to a 1-1 draw to remain on top of Group A in the United Football League Cup at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig Saturday night.

Fil-Am Nate Burkey scored on the 21st minute as Pachanga Diliman, a club now promoted to the First Division, seized control and kept the lead for over 50 minutes.

But Sean Illif struck with a rocket on the 75th as Manila Jeepney escaped with a draw.

The standoff thus improved Pachanga Diliman and Manila Jeepney’s total to seven on two wins and a draw but the former had a better goal differential with nine against the latter’s zero.

In the other Group A match, Army eked out a 1-0 victory over Ceres as Meliton Pelayo delivered on the 38th.
