Visayas jungolf on at CCC

MANILA, Philippines - The best junior players in the Visayas are tipped to see action in the Visayas regional event of the ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School Golf Championships at the Cebu Country Club course in Cebu on Oct. 27-28.

The Gao siblings – Wei-Yu and Wei-Fang, and Nagai brothers Gen and Nakai – as well as Junia Gabasa, a mainstay of the Cebu Country Club team seeing action in the PAL Ladies Interclub, are among those who already signed up for Visayas leg which is an expansion of a nationwide series organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines with the major support of International Container Terminal Services, Inc.

Events on tap in the event also sponsored by Pancake House, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, Golf Depot and McDonald’s are the seniors division for college boys, juniors division for boys in Grades 9-12, Midgets 1 for boys in Grades 6-8, Midgets 2 for boys Grades 3-5, Girls 1 for college girls, Girls 2 for girls in Grades 8-12 and Girls 3 for girls in Grade 3-7. 

Schools represented are Singapore School of Cebu, Cebu Eastern College, Centre of International Education, PCGS, College of Technology, Bright Academy, University of San Carlos, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu and Cebu International School. 

Close to 500 junior players have become part of the ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School series which also includes the four-month, weekends-only events in Metro Manila and the ICTSI-JGFP Mindanao Inter-School golf championships.
