MANILA, Philippines - Boxing returns tonight to the grandballroom of the Elorde Sports Center on Sucat Rd, Parañaque with a blockbuster card featuring nine bouts starting at 6 p.m.
Dubbed “Boxing Kontra Drogaâ€, the event, promoted by Johnny Elorde in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Manila 101 headed by Dr. Joyce Reyes and Cobra Energy Drink, encourages the youth to get involved in sports and shy away from banned drugs.
Philippine featherweight champion Vinvin Rufino fights Jonard Postrano in the first of a double main event card that will also feature the vacant Luzon Professional Boxing Association superfeatherweight championship between top contender Randy Braga of the Elorde stable and Richard Olisa of Tiger City Boxing Gym.
Rufino is preparing for a crack at the Oriental title early next year in Japan while Braga, undefeated in 11 fights with 2 KOs, will try to improve his ratings for a chance to fight for the Philippine title in his next outing.
