MANILA, Philippines - Johnlery Enriquez of JVT Racing and Bryan Ortile stamped their supremacy in separate races recently in the fifth legs of the 2013 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and the 2013 FDR Philippine Underbone King Championships at the Clark International Speedway.
Enriquez banked on a decisive maneuver in the final lap to win over JVT Racing teammates Dashi Watanabe and Ivan Santiago by the skin of his teeth and emerge the 180cc automatic scooter champion of the 2013 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships.
Ortile clinched the 150cc Open crown in the 2013 FDR Philippine Underbone King Championships.
Both events are sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA) and sponsored by Petronas Oils, FDR the official tires and media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ DZRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530.
Santiago was in full control of the top spot until the final lap where Enriquez unleashed a crucial move to wrest the lead going into the finish line and win the crown by just 0.058 of a second ahead of runner-up Watanabe.
