MANILA, Philippines - Quezon City won four golds, four silvers and two bronzes in wrestling to retain the overall lead in the Batang Pinoy Luzon leg in Iba, Zambales.
On the penultimate day of the week-long competition, the Big City athletes collected 81 medals (36-20-25).
Quezon City got four golds from Christian Bulagsac, Lea Monique Gonzaga, Abigail Valera and Heidi Mae Pinon.
Swimming gave Quezon City 15 golds, 14 silvers and 21 bronzes as it practically drowned the opposition, including Manila and Laguna, at the Zambales Sports Complex.
Baguio, champion two years ago, came in second with 32-33-25 followed by Pangasinan 23-17-21, Manila 13-3-3 and Laguna 11-15-26.
The gold, silver and bronze medalists will match skills against athletes from the Visayas and Mindanao in the National Finals slated Nov. 19-23 in Bacolod.
