SBP-Passerelle Visayas finals set

MANILA, Philippines - The Visayas championship leg of the SBP-Passerelle Twin Tournament will be held  Oct. 13 at the Iloilo Sports Complex with eight teams battling for the crowns. Teams from five schools have yet to slug it out in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Eyeing spots in the SBP Visayas championship games are Ateneo de Iloilo-Santa Maria Catholic School, Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion, University of St. La Salle Integrated School and University of San Carlos.

At the Passerelle category, the teams are Ateneo de Iloilo-Santa Maria Catholic School, College of St. John-Roxas, University of St. La Salle Integrated School and University of San Carlos.

Winning teams at the Visayas finals compete for the national championship against other regional winners from Luzon, Mindanao and NCR representative Chiang Kai Shek College for Passerelle and national defending SBP champion La Salle Green Hills.

Other regional finals are slated Oct. 26–27 in Davao for Mindanao, and Nov. 9–10 in Pampanga for Luzon. The cream of the crop will then head to Pampanga for the SBP-Passerelle National Finals Nov.  23–24.

The SBP Passerelle Twin Tournament has assembled 600 of the country’s most promising cagers, with kids 9-11 years old competing in the SBP tournament and kids 12-14 years in the Passerelle tournament.
