The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The champions of the 13th National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) basketball tournament will be crowned today at the Makati Coliseum after a pair of deciding Game Threes.

Defending champion Saint Clare College of Caloocan will shoot for back-to-back titles when they tackle inspired Centro Escolar University in the seniors division in the main game at 12 noon.  The Saints of coach Jino Manansala and NAASCU chairman Dr. Ernesto Jay Adalem took Game One, 70-68, last Sept. 25 but the Scorpions kept their bid alive by taking Game Two last Sept. 27, 67-59, to force the decider.
