HMF raises funds for special booters

MANILA, Philippines - The Henry Moran Foundation will hold a charity golf tournament on Oct. 17 at Valley Golf and Country Club in Antipolo to raise funds for the handicapped footballers vying in the Special Olympics in Australia later this year.

The organizers, led by HMF chairman Daniel Moran and head of Futbol program Ed Formoso, are hoping to raise at least P3 million to fund the participation of the team in Castle Hills, New South Wales.

The upcoming Australian event serves as a qualifier for the 2015 Special Olympics in Los Angeles, USA. Tee off is at 8 a.m.

As part of the HMF’s fund-raising activity, an art exhibition and auction of paintings will also be held at the Valley Golf banquet hall.

The auctioning of artwork by masters such as Ang Kiukok, Anita Magsaysay, and Juvenal Sanso will be comducted by the acapella group Baihana, which will also provide the entertainment during awards rites.
