Phl touring car racing launched this weekend
MANILA, Philippines - The country’s best circuit racing drivers gear up anew for another series of heart-stopping action and intense battles for the titles at stake as the Philippine Touring Car Championships launches its 2013 season Sept. 28-29 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Defending PTCC Driver of the Year William Tan of 2Go-Promithium Racing will be gunning for a back-to-back crown as some 20 drivers are expected to join the title quests in this event organized by Automobile Association Philippines, promoted by the Philippine Race Car Driver’s Inc. and co-presented by Kumho Tires, Tiarra Commercial, Forex, Promithium, Velocity Motors, Speedlab, and Aeromed Ambulance Transport.
Competing drivers will be vying for the titles in the Division 1 (for 200hp cars), Division 2 (for 150hp cars), Division 3 (for 100hp cars) as the AAP announced there will be no revisions in the technical regulations.
Tan will be defending the Division 1 crown as he expects tougher challenge from 2010 champ Joey Pery of Forex and Philippine-bet in the renowned EuroNascar Series driver Enzo Pastor who ended as overall runner-up and third placer, respectively.
