AFP, PhilHealth dispose of rivals

MANILA, Philippines - Living up to its lofty seedings, Armed Forces of the Philippines and PhilHealth demolished their rivals in the first UNTV Cup quarterfinals last Sunday at the Treston College Gym in Global City, Taguig.
AFP played minus their bigmen 6-4 center Jeffrey Quiambao and 6-3 Roland Pascual due to injury and schooling respectively but their absence was hardly felt as Winston Sergio and Wilfredo Casulla waxed hot all night in a 92-73 victory over Congress/LGU.
AFP drew 27 points from Sergio and 25 from Casulla to barge to the semis.
Richard Dominic Hernandez kept his fiery form as he led PhilHealth to an 87-65 rout of MMDA in the other game.
