MANILA, Philippines - William Casequin unveiled his best performance yet as he powered TRS Racing Kids’ big haul by pulling off a big upset for the Mini-ROK crown recently in the 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series at the Clark International Speedway.
Casequin, 11, surprised the crowd with his marked improvement as he upstaged the the top favorites with the support of BMW, Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, PUMA, OMP, C!Magazine, Aguila Auto Glass, Acer, Oakley, Toptul, Bellevue, Karate Kid and Go Pro.
He was second in the time trials clocking 1:10.024 but a bad start pulled him down to the tailend after the qualifying heat.
Unlike the past races, the never-say-die Casequin overtook one karter after another to capture the runner-up honors in the pre-final race to emerge the Mini-ROK champion with a far three-second lead.
Aside from Casequin’s champion trophy, the TRS Karting Kids Team also bagged two runner-up titles behind Jarred Kim in the Formula Cadet Novice class and Flynn Jackes in the Formula Cadet Expert division.
Arthur “AT†Tuason and Julia de los Angeles likewise copped third place finishes in the Formula SL Novice and Formula Cadet Novice classes, respectively.
