Kings-Texters KO duel reset to Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines – Weary Brgy. Ginebra and Talk n Text got much needed rest before they pour it all out on the hardcourt after the PBA reset the knockout game scheduled today (Monday) at the Cuneta Astrodome.

“Due to heavy rains and flooding, the playoff game for the 8th quarterfinal spot between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Talk n Text scheduled today has been reset for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7:15 pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The quarterfinals will start on Wednesday,” said the media announcement from the PBA on Monday morning.

 The Tropang Texters forced a knockout game for the last quarterfinal spot after a scintillating 113-99 dismantling of the Kings on Sunday night behind the heroics of Jimmy Alapag.

Meanwhile, the media bulletin furthermore added that the PBA quarterfinals will start with a back-to-back playdates on Wednesday and Thursday.

“The quarterfinals will start on Wednesday - 5:15 p.m. Meralco vs Barako Bull, 7:30 p.m. San Mig Coffee vs Alaska at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. On Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena, the games will be: 5:15 p.m. Rain or Shine vs GlobalPort, 7:30 p.m. Petron Blaze vs winner of Ginebra vs Talk n Text playoff. The complete and revised schedule of playoffs and venues will follow shortly.”

Meralco, San Mig Coffee, Petron and Rain or Shine enjoy twice-to-beat advantage over their rivals in the quarterfinals.

The winners of the four quarterfinal pairings will figure in best-of-five semifinal series.
