xMANILA, Philippines - AR Ramos played his best game so far in three rounds and helped La Salle Greenhils widen the gap in the Juniors division while La Salle Zobel made it a double-digit lead in Midgets 2 at the resumption of the ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School Golf Championship recently.
Ramos fired 52 points at the compact but tricky Aguinaldo course and La Salle Greenhills got the usual steady games from Miggy Yee (48) and Luigi Guerrero (46) to complete three rounds at 413 and far ahead of LSGH 2 which made 138 on similar 46s by Joni and Janco Pancho and Nikolo Gatmaytan for 364.
That big round allowed LSGH 2 to break away from Ateneo 1 (121-344) in their expected race for second place.
Not to be outdone were Jolo Magcalayo and Miguel Ilas who scored 34 and 28, respectively, to give La Salle Zobel an 18-point advantage in the Midgets 2 play of the series organized by the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines and backed chiefly by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc.
The Zobel kids had a 134 total against the 116 of Ateneo which got 25 from Mario Castañeda and 23 from Miggy Roque.
Yee and Magcalayo remained ahead in the individual rankings of the multi-division series also sponsored by the Pancake House Group, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, McDonald’s and the Philippine Golf Foundation.
Weather-permitting, the Girls 3 field plays at Intramuros and the Midgets 1 at Ayala Greenfield today.
