SBP, Passerelle semis up Sunday
MANILA, Philippines - The Small Basketeers Philippines (SBP)-Passerelle twin tournaments semifinal round is slated Sunday with two sets of four squads clashing for berths in the championship at the Xavier School gym.
La Salle Greenhills-A smothered Marist School-B, 69-25, in the quarterfinal round of the SBP contests over the weekend to earn the right to face Xavier School, which blasted LSGH-B, 40-27, in the tournament organized by BEST Center. Their semifinal clash is set at 1 p.m.
The winner of this match will face the winner of the 2:15 p.m. semis game between San Beda College and Ateneo-A.
San Beda reached the semis by scuttling Lourdes School-Quezon City, 49-35, while Ateneo disposed of Notre Dame of Greater Manila, 72-35.
In the Passerelle quarterfinal matches, San Beda-Rizal razed Don Bosco Technical Institute, 119-49, for the right to face Ateneo-A, which beat Nazareth School, 77-59, in the semis.
LSGH-A, meanwhile, frustrated University of Santo Tomas, 66-54, and will battle Chiang Kai Shek College-A. which nipped Xavier School-A, 65-62, in their own side of the semis of the tournament sponsored by Milo and supported by RCBC.
Championship matches are set on Oct. 5, also at the Xavier School gym.
