MANILA, Philippines - The Bridge School bets Rocco Pineda, Frances Lia Duque and Faustina Laura Duque remained on top in their respective divisions after contrasting rounds in Week 2 of the Division 2 Developmental Tour of the ICTSI-JGFP Inter-School Golf Championship at the Philippine Navy Golf Club course recently.
Pineda carded 19 for a 41-point aggregate in boys kindergarten play, Frances Lia Duque assembled 26 for a total of 46 and the girls kindergarten lead. Faustina Laurea did 21-43 for a six-point advantage in girls grade 1-3 as The Bridge dominated the lower divisions.
Other leaders were Arnie Taguines of Colegio San Agustin (girls grade 4-7), Mariah Magallanes of Miriam College (girls grade 8-12), Joaquin Hernandez of Singapore School Manila (boys grade 1-3), Josh Jorge of Heaven’s Door Christian Academy (boys grade 4-7) and Luke Barrister Nolasco of OB Montessori Center (boys 8-12).
The tourney is backed by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. and also sponsored by the Pancake House Group, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, Pancake House, Terikayi Boy, Golf Depot, Golf Depot and the Philippine Golf Foundation.
Taguines widened her lead to 22 points over Aalia Labrador of BSM with a 93 total for two days, Magallanes had 33 for two rounds after a 16 and a seven-point spread over Samantha Dizon.
Competition was tight in the boys division as Hernandez (24-46) was just three ahead of Jared Florendo of Domuschola International School, Jorge (53-107) a point up on Sean Granada of Don Bosco Mandaluyong and Nolasco (40-76) wresting a seven-point lead from Antonio Zamora (30-69).
The competitions take a break this week and will resume Oct. 6 at the Philippine Army course.
