MANILA, Philippines - Tai Zulberti of CityKart and Flynn Jackes of Tuason Racing Kids ruled separate races in heavy rains to fortify their respective title bids recently in the 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series at the EK Kart Track of the Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Zulberti squeezed out of a tight four-way battle with Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement and Tuason Racing Kids William Casequin and Jackes to capture the Mini-ROK crown while Jackes pulled off an escape win over Eduardo Coseteng Jr. to clinch the Formula Cadet Expert title of this event sponsored by Coca-Cola Philippines and Yokohama, and sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines.
Zulberti’s victory was a big follow-up to his feat at the Boomland Kart Track to further boost his bid for the Mini-ROK plum. He bounced back from a sloppy fourth place finish in the qualifying heat with a dominating show to sweep the Pre-Final and Final races.
He completed the 16-lap race in 11 minutes and 5.199 seconds to beat Ang by 1.942 seconds. Casequin checked in third while Jackes and Mikey Jordan wound up fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jackes outmaneuvered Coseteng Jr. to pull off a 0.549 of a second win.
