Bohol hosts Palawan Pawnshop age-grouper

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Action in the Palawan Pawnshop regional age-group 2013 presented by Babolat resumes tomorrow with nine events on tap at the Sto. Niño courts in Ubay, Bohol.

The four-day tournament ending Monday serves as the 16th leg of the year-long, nationwide circuit put up by Palawan Pawnshop and Babolat in their continuing effort to help develop the sport and provide the youth a venue to showcase their talent and skills.

This also marks the first time that a local government unit is spearheading the staging of the event in Bohol through Mayor Galicano Atup, Vice Mayor Nelson Uy and Philta regional vice president Ernesto T-ngardz Uy.

Registration is ongoing. For details, contact Philta referee Bobby Mangunay at 0915-4046464. Events on tap are the 10-unisex, and the boys and girls’ 12-U, 14-U, 16-U and 18-U categories.

“Through the years, it has been the commitment of Palawan Pawnshop and Babolat to develop our players by providing top-notch tournaments like this,” said Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro. “This tournament will surely inspire our young players to achieve a higher level of play.”

“The nationwide age-group circuit also serves as the regional tournament program for children put up to address the need for a grassroots tennis centered on values formation,” said Technosports president Guillermo Nocom.
