MANILA, Philippines - Run for Pinoy Glory 2013, originally set this Sunday, has been moved to Oct. 20 at the Camp Aguinaldo grandstand in QC.
The De La Salle-College of St. Benilde’s Junior Marketing Association (DLS-CSB-JMA), one of the event’s partners, had asked for its postponement since it is busy with the relief operations for victims of the recent Typhoon Maring and Habagat.
Run for Pinoy Glory 2013 is organized by Shadowfax Events, in partnership with DLS-CSB-JMA and the Philippine Sports Association for the Differently-Abled (PhilSPADA) with support from the British Embassy Manila, SM Aura, SM Southmall, SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia.
The event is held in honor of the Filipino Paralympians. By participating in the run, participants – athletes and non-athletes, able-bodied and differently-abled – will get the chance to boost the morale of the Paralympians who inspire and bring glory to the nation.
On tap is a special category for participants in wheelchairs, which highlights the Paralympic aspect of the games.
Registration is ongoing and will end on Oct. 17 at the Fitness and Athletics BGC and the following Chris Sports Outlets: SM MOA, SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, SM Manila, SM Sucat, Glorietta 3 Makati and Festival Mall Alabang. Race categories are 3K, 5K and 10K.
The nine Filipinos who competed in the London 2012 Paralympic Games were Marites Urce (athletics), Isidro Vildosola (athletics), Andy Avellana (athletics), Roger Tapia (athletics), Josephine Media (table tennis), Beariza Ma.
