MANILA, Philippines - Perpetual Help dominated Letran in the third quarter as the Altas scored a 67-55 victory to stretch their win run to four in the Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at the Arellano U gym in Legarda last weekend.
Nigerian Akhuetie Bright imposed his will and scored 20 points to power the Altas to victory and the lead in Group B. Bright and Crispin Elopre combined for 19 points in the third as the Altas overcame an 18-25 halftime deficit to post a 45-37 lead heading to the fourth.
San Beda and Adamson likewise posted their fourth straight wins in junior play with the former drawing 10 points from Evan Euraque to beat the St. Jude side, 71-63, in Group B and the latter getting 11 points from Gerard Fernandez to likewise clobber St. Jude, 67-48, recently.
In other junior games, the Xavier School Stallions, with Jarrel Lim firing 20 points, stopped the St. Joseph-Bulacan cagers, 83-75, to even their card to 2-2. The Stallions also trashed the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers with Lim scoring 18 points.
