PNP bludgeons PhilHealth, stays unscathed in UNTV Cup

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police routed PhilHealth, 100-73, to stay unbeaten in the first UNTV Cup held on a rainy Sunday at the Pasig Sports Center in Pasig.

What was expected to be a tight battle between two unbeaten teams became a lopsided duel as Ollan Omiping went unstoppable as soon as he was sent into the game.  PNP stretched its winning streak to three.

Former PBA player Don Camaso produced solid numbers of 27 points, 20 rebounds, three steals and three blocks while celebrity John Hall added 22 points as Judiciary got its second win in three games with a 100-97 win over Armed Forces,  which absorbed its second straight loss in three games.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) meanwhile survived the 50-point output of Ervic Vijandre with a 99-78  rout of Congress-LGU in the other game.

This is the first win in two outings for MMDA. Congress-LGU took its second straight loss after debuting with a win against Judiciary.
