Barro siblings top JGFP 9th leg at Valley

MANILA, Philippines - Siblings Paqo and Laia Barro dominated their respective divisions to lead the winners in the ninth leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Series conducted by The Junior Golfers League at the Valley Golf and Country Club’s executive course recently.

Paqo exploded for 53 points in his second round to beat Karl dela Torre by three in boys Class C while Laia also made a strong bounce back from a bad start in girls Class D with a 35 to beat Trish Lazatin by 10 under the best round of two format of the tourney backed by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. as major sponsor.

Aldo Barro missed making it a triple family victory when he lost by four to Luiz Castro, who turned in a 46, in boys Class C.

The other boys winners of the event also sponsored by Pancake House, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Yellow Cab, Golf Depot and McDonald’s were Jonas Magcalayo in Class A, Luiz Castro in Class B, Sean Ramos in Class D, Joaquin Hernandez in Class E and Joshua Cole Cruz in Class F. Laia was joined by Samantha Martirez in Class A, Bela Maravite in Class B, Kristine Torralba in Class C, Annika Chua in Class E and Alexi Blanco in Class F in the girls winners’ circle.
