Basketball, AYG stint up in Forum

MANILA, Philippines - What’s in store next for Philippine basketball following the silver medal finish of Gilas Pilipinas in the just concluded 27th FIBA-Asia Championship will be tackled today in the weekly PSA Forum at Shakey’s Malate.

Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas executive director Sonny Barrios is gracing the public sports program aired live over dzSR Sports Radio 918 and presented by Shakey’s and the Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corp., in behalf of the national team and will try to give concrete answers on the plans of the country’s basketball federation following its successful quest for a berth in the FIBA-World Cup in Spain next year.

Asian Youth Games chef de mission Nathaniel “Tac” Padilla and Milo sports executives Robbie de Vera and Andrew Neri, will share center stage with Barrios in the 10:30 a.m. session.

Padilla is expected to talk about the country’s campaign in the Nanjing, China Games set Aug. 16-24, while De Vera and Neri are going to discuss the coming Milo Little Olympics.
