St. Clare goes up vs CEU 5 in NAASCU

MANILA, Philippines - Defending champion St. Clare College of Caloocan collides with Centro Escolar University today, seeking no less than a win in the opener of the 2013 National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) basketball tournament at the Makati Coliseum.

The St. Clare-CEU clash, a duel of last year’s title protagonists, is set at 10 a.m. following the 8 a.m. opening rites.

Former PBA cager and outstanding alumnus of CEU Integrated School of Malolos Vergel Meneses, Philippine Olympic Committee secretary-general Steve Hontiveros and basketball patron Alex Wang are the guests of honor.

Highlighting the event is the crowning of this year’s Mr. and Ms. NAASCU to be followed by the ceremonial toss to be participated in by Meneses, Hontiveros and Wang alongside league officials headed by chairman Dr. Jay Adalem, and president Dr. Vicente  Santos Jr. of host Our Lady of Fatima University.
