MANILA, Philippines - Congress-LGU battles PhilHealth while AFP tests the mettle of PNP as the joint leaders collide in a pair of explosive games in the first UNTV Cup today at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

All four teams seek to follow up their impressive wins on opening day and stay on top in this seven-team league organized by Breakthrough and Milestones Production International (BMPI) under chairman and CEO Daniel Razon.

TV personality Ervic Vijandre tries to prove that his 38 points in his team’s 99-95 victory over Judiciary last Sunday was no fluke as he spearheads the team of playing coach Gerry Esplana in gunning for win No. 2 in 2:30 p.m. curtain-raiser.

Focus will also be on the final game of the triple-header at 5:30 between the military athletes from the AFP and PNP with the winner expected to boost their billing as the meet’s team to beat.

Judiciary and DOJ, meanwhile, race each other for their first win in the 4 p.m. game.
