Warriors, Lions rout rivals in Martin Cup

MANILA, Philippines - UE and San Beda rolled past their respective rivals to notch their second straight victories in the 11th Fr. Martin Cup Division 2 basketball tournament at San Beda gym in Mendiola recently.

The Warriors drew 16 points from Mustapha Arafat and Daryl Guiang as they subdued the St. Benilde Blazers, 51-43, in Group A while Donald Tankona scored 20 points to power the Red Lions to a 59-51 victory over the La Salle Archers in Group B.

The Red Cubs, meanwhile, turned back the Jose Rizal U Light Bombers, 61-56, while the San Sebastian Staglets held off the St. Benilde Blazing Wolves, 81-78, in junior play.

Dexter Deloria hit 12 points as Jose Rizal U bounced back to beat UST, 53-48, for a 2-1 card in the junior division.
