MCC chess up tomorrow
MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Chess Club amateur chess tournament reels off at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Walter Mart Sucat in Parañaque.
The one-day, seven-round Swiss system tournament is open to newcomers, unrated and rated players with NCFP rating not over 1850.
The top 10 major winners and five category top performers will receive cash prizes with the champion getting P4,000.
The other categories in the event, backed by Rosita Lee of Las Vegas and F&B Glass, Aluminum Supplies and Services Corp., are kiddies (12-Uand 16-U), ladies, unrated and senior division.
Participants may register before 10:30 a.m. at the mall’s second floor near Homeplus. Entry fee is P350, inclusive of one meal and one paper chessboard.
