Tennis great Yngayo, 76

MANILA, Philippines - Former Asian Games lawn tennis medalist Patricia Yngayo passed away due to lingering illness. She was 76.

Yngayo won the women’s double silver medal with Desideria Ampon and mixed doubles silver with Miguel Dungo in the 1958 Tokyo Games where the Phl finished second to Japan.

She also had three bronze medals in women’s singles, doubles and team events in the 1962 Jakarta Games and later won two more silvers in women’s and mixed doubles and a bronze in women’s team event in the Asian Games edition in Bangkok, Thailand four years later.

Her body lies in state at the Funeraria Rizal in Libertad, Pasay City. Cremation will be on Friday.
