MANILA, Philippines - Ashia Nocum shot 53 Molave points to capture the overall championship in the GolfMix-JGFP June Monthly Teens Trophy at the Capitol Hills Golf Club in QC recently.
Nocum made two birdies against three bogeys to emerge the overall winner in the 13-17 age category and join the roster of GolfMix-JGFP winners which included Paqo Barro and Carl Corpus.
Nocum is set to leave for Pinehurst, North Carolina on July 24 to compete in the US Kids Golf World Championship.
Meanwhile, Luis Yuchengco scored 45 molave points to beat David Guangko by four and cop the 12-and-Under crown. Other winners were Jed Dy, Ken Shibata, Vince Tiamsic and Vito Singson.
In other results, Josh Cruz topped the six-and-Under division while Luis Maliglig ruled the 7-8 category and David Guangko dominated the 9-10 group. Andie Villalon nipped Luis Maliglig in the countback to claim the 11-12 plum while Martin Sorensen captured the 15-17 crown over Ethan Uy.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines and is open to all junior golfers of different skill levels, from beginners to advanced and highly competitive players.
