Manila Bay Clean-Up run unfolds July 14

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Over 4,500 runners have signed up to help clean the country’s waterways and coastal resources by taking part in this year’s Manila Bay Clean-Up Run, which fires off July 14 across the Aliw Theater at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.

The event marks the 74th anniversary of DZRH, the flagship station of Manila Broadcasting Company, which is organizing the race as a member of the “Sunset” partnership among establishments helping Land Bank’s program to restore Manila Bay.

Prizes in cash and kind are in store for all finishers, who will also get free ride-all-you-can  tickets to Star City among other items in their loot bags. MBC will also raffle off android phones, and will present a mini-concert featuring Luke Mejares and Pretty Young Thing following the races.

Resorts World Manila, which is supporting the project, will set up a booth offering free membership to the public. Other backers of the run are Globe Telecom, Golden Oats, 2Go, Alpen Libe, Cobra Energy Drink, M.Lhuillier, Lomotil, at Islands Souvenirs.
