MANILA, Philippines – La Salle coach Juno Sauler, who earlier got his first win in 76th UAAP Season after the Archers clobbered the UP Maroons, 96-84, believes his team has a lot of room for improvement.
"I think the key today is we have more assists than turnovers unlike in our last game against UST," said Sauler. "But we gave up a lot of points for us to win we have to limit our opponents points too.â€
The Archers noticeably played in a more up-tempo game, leading to 24 fast break points.
Sauler is satisfied that his wards stuck to their game plan.
"That is one way to get easy points so I told the boys that every opportunity we can run, we should try to get easy baskets and take advantage of our speed," said Sauler.
According to Sauler, he is not giving premium to wins and losses at the moment.
"I said in the preseason, I will be looking at the team on a day-to-day basis for improvement," said the La Salle mentor. "I'm slowly teaching them things in our system. Hopefully by the second round, we will perfect everything."
