Ateneo’s Ravena out indefinitely due to injury
MANILA, Philippines -- Opting to rest his injured ankle, star guard Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo will not suit up against FEU Wednesday in Season 76 of the UAAP men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
"Di pa ako makakalaro mamaya pero my injury is definitely better than the previous game," confirmed Ravena, who’s wearing a supportive boot in his right foot.
The Ateneo guard didn't commit a date for his return to action.
"Wala pang definite date ng pagbabalik ko pero aantayin ko muna maging 100 percent ako para makatulong na ako sa team," he added.
Despite his absence, Ravena is confident of his team's chances against the FEU Tamaraws.
"Kahit wala ako malakas team namin. Tatalunin nila yan," he said.
Ateneo lost in their opening match last Sunday against National University, 54-64, while FEU opened their campaign on a positive note against UE, 89-78. Ravena, who only played sparingly for eight minutes in the first half against FEU, finished with only two points on 1-of-6 shooting.
