Kings extend qualifying offer to Evans
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Kings have extended a qualifying offer to guard Tyreke Evans, making him a restricted free agent.
Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro announced the move Tuesday that allows the team to match any contract offer Evans receives from another team.
Evans averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 65 games last season.
Evans was drafted fourth overall out of Memphis in 2009 and won the NBA Rookie of the Year that season. He is averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 257 games over four seasons with the Kings.
