MANILA, Philippines - Action in the Petronas Philippine Motorsports Championships season resumes this Sunday when the third legs of the Bridgestone Philippine Superbikes Series, the FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and the Philippine Underbone King Championships are held at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Teen ace rider Dashi Watanabe of Aprilia goes for a third straight victory as he faces off with defending champion Raniel Resuello of Ducati RAR Castrol Motolite racing team in the Superbikes Expert class in a bid to firm up his hold of the solo leadership in the Bridgestone superbikes series sanctioned by Superbikes Racing Association.
Focus will also be on the two world-renowned champion Italian motorcycles with Watanabe on Aprilia and Resuello on 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale.
John Lery Enriquez and Niño Fabian likewise seek a repeat in the FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and the FDR Philippine Underbone King Championships, respectively, which are both sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA) and supported by FDR as the official tires.
Team Ducati Philippines also eyes another sweep in the Superbikes Open Masters class behind first leg winner and SBRA president John Defensor together with Toti Alberto and Charles Nolasco.
Also fancied in their respective events are Anthony Roman in the Superbikes Intermediate class, Rizaldy Canare in the Superbikes Novice division, Aries Padiernos in the 400cc Unlimited Class, Martin Defensor in the 400cc Novice crown and Marvin Mangulabnan in the Moto IR race of the event sponsored by Petronas, Bridgestone as the official Superbikes tires and media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ DZRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530.
