MANILA, Philippines - TRS Racing Kid Flynn Jackes hopes to deliver the laurels for the country as he joins the Philippine karting team competing against Asia’s best in the second leg of the 2013 Asian Karting Open Championships today at the Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit in Macau..
Jackes, 10, is eyeing a better finish this season as he guns for the Asian Mini-ROK plum with the support of by BMW, Bridgestone, Standard Insurance, Coke Zero, PUMA, OMP, C!Magazine, Aguila Auto Glass, Acer, Oakley, Toptul, Bellevue, Karate Kid and Go Pro.
He wound up third overall in the Asian Mini-ROK last year after a grueling finals showdown against two top Indonesians and copped runner-up honors in the Philippine kickoff of the event last month.
His runner-up finish in the Singapore Karting Championship just last week provided Jackes with the needed morale-booster to hopefully pull a back-to-back win after ruling the race at the highly-technical Macau track last year.
“It feels great to win in Singapore. I learned so many things and hopefully these lessons will help improve my performance in Macau and ultimately boost our chances for the Asian Mini-ROK crown this year,†said Jackes.
The Singapore stint was an enlightening experience for Flynn who had been through a lot of misfortunes lately.
“I will never learn what not to do and what to evade if I hadn’t gone through all these,â€said Flynn who has shown better racing maturity lately. “Racing skills are just basic but to develop that mental alertness, the mental skill to make quick decisions under threatening situations plays a bigger part in winning a race.â€
“Flynn has not just proved his hard work and dedication but has developed that character distinct of racing champions.
