Granada, Gallent lead Oakley Cup winners

MANILA, Philippines - Sean Granada topped the centerpiece Junior division while Jorge Gallent, Raul Ilagan and Jun Cabrera led the category winners in the first Oakley Golf Cup at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Laguna recently.

Granada beat Dan Cruz Jr., Jed Dy and John Catalan while Gallent bested Mike Besa, JB Garcia and Atty. Frank Figura to clinch the Class A crown.

Ilagan defeated Atty. Jose Miguel Manalo, Marvin Caparros and Jimmy Mueco to bag the Class B title while Cabrera toppled Edward Chua, Atty. Reggie Nolido and Jeff Reyes to cop the Class C plum in the event sponsored by Oakley, the best eyewear brand in the world.

The tournament, dubbed “Beyond Reason: The 1st Oakley Golf Cup,” also served as part of The Junior Golfers League (TJGL), a grassroots development league of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.

The event, graced by some of the biggest names in the business, including top CEOs, bigwigs, celebrities, media practitioners, junior golfers and golf aficionados in the country, also showed the latest innovations in Oakley golf eyewear, accessories and apparel. The Junior Golfers were suited in Oakley products which gave them excellent head start.
