Suzuki-Phoenix dominates PNG road race

MANILA, Philippines - The Suzuki-Phoenix-YRS Racing Team displayed another dynamic show, this time in the POC-PSC  National Games motorcycle event,  second leg of the Repsol National Road Racing Championships, in Parang, Marikina recently.

Coming off a dominant performance in the first leg of the series, the Suzuki-Phoenix-Racing Team sent three riders to the podium. They were  led by multi-titled Enzo Rellosa, who took home the championship in the Super Stock 115 and placed third in the Sports Production 115 category, aboard a Suzuki Smash 115.

“I felt good the entire race. Everything clicked for me,” said the 19-year-old Rellosa, from Iriga.

With Rellosa leading the charge, Michael Altamira and new recruit James Mendez followed suit for the Suzuki-Phoenix-YRS Racing Team, also backed by Suzuki Philippines, Phoenix Petroleum Phils., Spyder Optics & Helmets, RK Chains, Vee Rubber, Garant & Holex Tools, Hydro Plus, Denso Spark plugs at YRS Total Performance Center in Mandaluyong City, home of the Philippines’ fastest man on two wheels – the late Maico Buncio.

Altamira showed good racing form with a third place finish in the Suzuki One Make Race Nex 115 Cup, while Mendez wowed the crowd with his aggressive riding expertise in the LC-135 category, where he took third place after starting from behind.

The event is sanctioned by the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association.
