MANILA, Philippines - Jime Escaler hit two clutch triples as Ateneo came from behind to edge National U, 79-75, and capture the sixth FCBL-Freego Cup crown at the Philippine Buddhacare gym in QC over the weekend.

After a basket by Mike Nieto and four consecutive free throws by Thirdy Ravena, Escaler knocked in his second triple to shove the Eagles to a 77-75 lead.
He then capped his fourth quarter explosion with two free throws to finally seal Ateneo’s victory in the tournament sponsored by Smart Sports, Fresh Gear, Colt Commercial, Powerbest Marketing, Inc., Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, Hapee Toothpaste and Insular Square of Cebu.
