MANILA, Philippines - The 2013 Petronas Philippine motorsports season stages the second legs of the 2013 Bridgestone Philippine Superbikes Series, the 2013 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and the 2013 Philippine Underbone King Championships tomorrow at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Teen ace rider Dashi Watanabe seeks a repeat over defending champion Raniel Resuello of Ducati RAR Castrol Motolite Racing Team as they resume rivalry in the Superbikes Expert class of the 2013 Bridgestone Philippine Superbikes Series sanctioned by Superbikes Racing Association (SBRA).
The superbikes series is supported by Bridgestone (official Superbikes tires) and media partners Racing Beat @ Wave 89.1, Inside Motoring @ DZRJ810khz and Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530.
Bryan Ortile and John Lery Enriquez also gun for their second straight upsets over the reigning champs, respectively, in the 2013 FDR Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and the 2013 FDR Philippine Underbone King Championships.
Both competitions are sanctioned by the Underbone and Scooters Racing Association (USRA) and supported by FDR tires.
Watanabe made a strong comeback in the Superbikes scene aboard his Aprilia Superbike. He engaged Resuello and his 2012 Ducati 1199 Panigale in a neck-and-neck battle throughout the nine-lap race and got a big help from a backmarker who blocked the reigning champ’s path, giving the Fil-Japanese pull a narrow escape for the Superbikes Expert crown, just 0.409 of a second ahead.
