MANILA, Philippines - Cebu sent four bets into the finals as Ericka Lim, Lois Kaye Go, Wei Yu Gao and Junia Gabasa posted contrasting semifinal victories yesterday in the Philippine Golf Foundation Junior Masters national match play tournament at the Alabang Country Club.
Ericka Lim scored a 7&5 demolition of Daniella Uy to set up a championship duel with top seed Pamela Mariano of Del Monte, who disposed of Gabrielle Marie Crystal 7&6, for the girls Class A crown of the tourney, one of the major events in the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP) summer calendar.
LK Go overpowered Annika Guangko, 8&7, to set up a title showdown with Annika Cedo, a 6&5 winner over Del Monte’s Rainstar Roque in the girls Class B action.
Wei Yu Gao had a tougher time getting into the finals after a 3&2 win over Luigi Paolo Wong. He faces Ira Alido, a 2&1 winner over Russel Bautista, for the boys Class C crown. Gabasa became the fourth Cebu finalist after getting past Martina Miñoza 5&3 in girls Class C.
Jolo Magcalayo and Josh Jorge, meanwhile, arranged an expected duel for the boys Class D crown while Ashia Nocum took the other Class C finals slot by ousting Angela Pearl Mangana 5&4.
